Bird Flu Kills Two Siblings in Indonesia

The bird flu made the news again today as two children in Indonesia died from the disease. Tests found that the brother and sister were infected by the H5N1 strain of the virus. WHO has so far confirmed 33 human deaths from the bird flu just in Indonesia alone.

WHO officials have not been able to link the family members to contact with infected birds, and have said that it is possible that limited human-to-human transmission may have occured, though the virus has not mutaded in any way and has shown no other human-to-human spreading thusfar.

The even more rediculous aspect of this whole investigation are the people not cooperating with the investigation. One man going so far as beheading a chicken and drinking its blood earlier this week in an attempt to prove that bird flu did not sicken anyone there.

Experts are still on the edge of their seat wondering if the H5N1 will mutate into something that spreads easily among humans.
